ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The Employment & Educational Services Coordinator is available for Individual consultation and assistance with employment, self-employment and career exploration.

Services available to all military family members: spouses and youth
  • Job search preparation with resume and cover letter writing, and mock interviews.
  • Career exploration & referral.
  • Support and assistance with EI claims.
  • Services available to spouses, dependents, members of the Military Community and civilian Personnel.
  • Personal and Professional workshops and seminars.
  • Information sessions on employment and educational services in the Comox Valley.
  • Reference books on job search strategies and tools, self-employment options and starting home based businesses.
  • Job board with current employment opportunities.

WHAT DOES THE EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM OFFER?
  • Postings highlighting job opportunities available in the Comox Valley.
  • Personal and professional workshops and seminars.
  • Information sessions on employment and educational services in the Comox Valley.
  • Local labour market information.
  • Assistance with the creation self-promoting resumes and cover letters.
  • The opportunity to develop effective interview skills and receive constructive feedback.
  • Individual consultation to explore career, education, and self-employment options. Referrals provided to local employment agencies and services, colleges, and universities, and training institutes.
  • Internet searches for distance education programs and employment opportunities.
  • Reference books on job search strategies and tools, self-employment options and starting home-based businesses.
  • GED, SAT, GRE, L-Sat, G-Mat prep books available on loan. 
  • University and college calendars available on loan.
  • Internet access and computer-based courses.
  • Exam invigilation.
